Brooks Henry Curtis
Brooks Henry Curtis our newest addition of the family was Born on July 26th, 2012 at 7:39pm. Weighing 8.1 lbs and 20 inches long. They started me on pitosin at the hospital at 7am. I had to be induced because I started having high blood pressure like I had with Carson. I started having contractions very regulary and painfully by 11am. At 11am I was in a lot of pain but only 4cm dialated. I decided that I needed the epidural by 11:30am. I probably could have gone longer without it if I had brushed up on my labor and delivery books, all I needed to do was change positions! I was feeling better after I had sat up for a while waiting for the epidural. Anyway, I got the epidural and it helped with my blood pressure so I wouldnt have to go on a medicine called magnizium which I was really praying that I wouldnt have to get cause it makes you feel really sick! I was stuck at 4cm for a long time. Finally at 5pm they broke my water, then I progressed fast! I started pushing at about 7:15pm. The doctor (Dr. Nathan) let Anthony catch Brooks! He came out with a loud cry, and he let out a loud Curtis fart.. lol We were so in love with him right away, then his proud big brothers Lucian, and Carson came in to meet him. I was VERY nervous about how Carson would react to seeing me with another baby, but he looked at me gave me a hug, looked at Brooks, then my belly, then Brooks again and it just clicked for him... he was a BIG brother, and he gave him a kiss on his forehead. He had the biggest smile on his face. It was also nice to have Lucian at the hospital since he was not able to be there when Carson was born. I was so happy to have all of my boys! Words can not describe how much I love them and am blessed to have them!
I had a bit of a rough recovery after Brooks was born, I was bleeding to much, and passing a lot of clots. I couldnt walk and had a lot of catheters in and out of me, so we were not having many visitors. Which really sucked because I wanted to show of my new little man! I stayed in the hospital for an extra day and am thankful for that because Brooks started vomiting a lot one day and had a lot of amniotic fluid stuck in his throat. Tney had to stick a tube into his stomach to suck all of the gunk out because he choacked and stopped breathing for a minute! I was so scared! But God had blessed me with an amazing husband who is an EMT and knew just what to do for our little Brooks! And the nurses of course! But all was well and we are blessed with a healthy, happy little bundle of joy!
