Lucian turns 8, and Brooks is 4 months!

This has been a busy November for the Curtis family. Lucian made it to semi finals in his 8/9er football league. He mostly sat as a bench warmer through this part of the season, well most of the season since he was the only 7 year old on his team. It was a great Learning experience for him though, he really learned what it meant to be a real team player and supported his team. He made lots of new friends and really enjoyed playing football this year.
We had a birthday party for him this weekend it was just a small get together with a few of his buddies and his older brother Jaydeon and cousin Desmond. They went to Traxx with Anthony and then came back and had pizza and played flash light zombie tag in the back yard while we had a Bon fire... They seemed to have a lot of fun. This is the first year Anthony and I have been able to spend with Luc on his birthday and it was great to celebrate with him. Today, his actual birthday, I brought his class cupcakes and brought Lucian a happy meal fore lunch. Then he spent the evening making ginger bread men and watching Christmas vacation. This year he has been a joy to have as a full time member of our family and we look forward to many more!

8 things I love about Lucian
1. His heart.
2. How he is so gracious to others.
3. His sensitivity to others feelings and emotions.
4. His sense of humor.
5. He is ALWAYS happy!
6. His enthusiasm about life.. Or little things.
7. How he is such a good disciple of Jesus, seriously, he is not shy about his love for the lord to anyone.
8. He is such a good big brother, he shares with Carson, gives him hugs, plays with him, helps him and loves to hold baby Brooks! He's going to be a good role model for them.

Brooks is 4 months old! 4 things I love about Brooks...

1. His giggles (especially when I tickle him, he is super ticklish)
2. His slobber kisses. He is really starting to grab my face and just lick it lol!
3. The way he looks at his brothers and kicks and gets excited when they are around.
4. How he looks so cute in all of his clothes and lets me dress him up and take pictures!

This month was Thanksgiving, and of course I am most thankful for god and my family, they are amazing and I love watching them all grow!

A little about Carson this month.
He talks so much now! He says the cutest things, and is so funny. The other day Brooks was tooting on my lap and Carson comes up to me and says "uh oh mommy poop! Diaper change?" and lifts up my butt lol! Gross but funny! He sings all the songs he knows On the radio, my favorite is "my god is not dead he's surely alive" And, he loves the curious George song and will sit and watch Curious George for a while, and will watch the music video over and over and tell me how jack Johnson slips on a banana and falls in the water! every time! Lol anyway, Anthony and I are very busy with our boys.. We barely have time for ourselves, but they bring so much joy and happiness to our lives and I wouldn't want it any other way!

Brooks is 3 months old!

Today is Brooks' 3 month birthday!
3 things we love about our Brooks:
1. His giggles
2. His silly faces
3. His cuddles

Brooks has been a good baby for us the past 3 months! He sleeps very well, usually from 7pm to about 3am for a feeding, then back to sleep until about 6:30 for another feeding, then sleeps some days until about 9-9:30ish. One day he took a 5 hour nap! He loves when I sing to him, his favorite is rock-a-bye. He also loves to play patty cake and wheels on the bus. He spends a lot of time in his bouncer seat where he likes to look at the piggy and move his arms and legs around. He also discovered his hands and sucks on them quite a bit! Today he was giving us real belly laughs! he thinks his daddy is funny, and sophie the giraffe! We love this little man!

Shoe fetish....

Carson has quite the shoe fetish, he likes to try on all types of shoes, big, small, build a bear shoes, high heals, boots, cleats.... When I get his shoes on to go out the door, he throws a fit cause he wants to try on all the other shoes in the closet, or if there is a pair on the porch, he will walk out, take off his shoes and put on the pair he finds, and he never leaves his shoes on in the car so we have like 3 pairs in there at all times...

Lucian Anthony Curtis

Lucian my almost 8 year old step son.
When Lucian was 22 months old I met him at Northshore Christian Academy, where I just got a job as a toddler teacher. Lucian reminded me a lot of myself when I was his age, just his laugh, his goofiness, always pretending he was falling over, how he loved to play hide and seek, and his "cha chow" car aka lightning McQueen! Anyway, if it were not for this little boy I would have never had met my amazing husband! Around May of 2006, Anthony and I started dating, at first it was me babysitting Lucian for a few hours then we gradually started to hang out as a couple :)
We were married in November of 2008. Lucian was 4 years old.

On November 27th, he will be 8. He lives with us full time now. He use to live with his mother in Texas and California but his mother was having some personal issues. We love having Lucian here full time! He is full of love, energy and laughter. He is an awesome big brother, and a great helper for me! He loves to talk and he says the funniest things, he is a great athlete and is currently playing football on a 8/9ers team in lake Stevens. He is doing very well in 2nd grade and is making lots of new friends at school!
Apparently he is quite a popular little man, so popular that kids at his school google his name and read this blog! (Riley Schoolcraft) Lol anyway, that's my Lucian!

Carson Stanley Curtis

So, I started this blog when I was pregnant with our little now TOT Carson. He has kept us very busy for 22 months! Along with my step son Lucian and our new precious Brooks! Anyway, here is a little about Carson's Birth and Carsons past 22 months!I am now not only a mother of a CHILD, but 3 CHILD-REN!Carson Stanley Curtis was born early at 37 weeks on December 8th, 2008 at 7:13am. He was 7lbs and 19 inches long. I was instantly in love with him when he came out. Words can not describe the love you feel when you meet your baby for the first time!

"your first breath took my breath away"

Now you are 22 months! I can't believe it! You are still my little baby! Always and forever! I love so many things about you. Your smile, your kisses, your snuggles in the morning when we watch mickey mouse club house, the way you try to be goofy when you do the hot dog dance, the way you play with your red car, how you love to sing Jesus loves me after I read you your bible story, how you are just so wild and love to run and jump and play with your train, how you laugh, how you give sweet kisses to your baby brother, how you stalk your big brother, and most of all how you have such a loving heart!

Brooks Henry Curtis

Brooks Henry Curtis our newest addition of the family was Born on July 26th, 2012 at 7:39pm. Weighing 8.1 lbs and 20 inches long. They started me on pitosin at the hospital at 7am. I had to be induced because I started having high blood pressure like I had with Carson. I started having contractions very regulary and painfully by 11am. At 11am I was in a lot of pain but only 4cm dialated. I decided that I needed the epidural by 11:30am. I probably could have gone longer without it if I had brushed up on my labor and delivery books, all I needed to do was change positions! I was feeling better after I had sat up for a while waiting for the epidural. Anyway, I got the epidural and it helped with my blood pressure so I wouldnt have to go on a medicine called magnizium which I was really praying that I wouldnt have to get cause it makes you feel really sick! I was stuck at 4cm for a long time. Finally at 5pm they broke my water, then I progressed fast! I started pushing at about 7:15pm. The doctor (Dr. Nathan) let Anthony catch Brooks! He came out with a loud cry, and he let out a loud Curtis fart.. lol We were so in love with him right away, then his proud big brothers Lucian, and Carson came in to meet him. I was VERY nervous about how Carson would react to seeing me with another baby, but he looked at me gave me a hug, looked at Brooks, then my belly, then Brooks again and it just clicked for him... he was a BIG brother, and he gave him a kiss on his forehead. He had the biggest smile on his face. It was also nice to have Lucian at the hospital since he was not able to be there when Carson was born. I was so happy to have all of my boys! Words can not describe how much I love them and am blessed to have them! I had a bit of a rough recovery after Brooks was born, I was bleeding to much, and passing a lot of clots. I couldnt walk and had a lot of catheters in and out of me, so we were not having many visitors. Which really sucked because I wanted to show of my new little man! I stayed in the hospital for an extra day and am thankful for that because Brooks started vomiting a lot one day and had a lot of amniotic fluid stuck in his throat. Tney had to stick a tube into his stomach to suck all of the gunk out because he choacked and stopped breathing for a minute! I was so scared! But God had blessed me with an amazing husband who is an EMT and knew just what to do for our little Brooks! And the nurses of course! But all was well and we are blessed with a healthy, happy little bundle of joy!
